Ranger Youth Leader
Girlguiding Bedfordshire
By volunteering with us, you will play an important role in helping girls in Rangers (14-18 yrs) enabling girls to learn to lead, try new things, have fun and give something back to their community. Talk to us whatever your experience, your background or how much time you have spare.
Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good. We give them a space to have fun. Girls aged 14-18 join Rangers. It's all about taking the lead and finding new challenges. Rangers meet up regularly, have fun doing activities together and be recognised for their achievements with badges and awards. Volunteering with us isn't just about campfires and helping girls to get their next badge - although those are special moments that we all share, it's about empowering girls, giving them new experiences and being a role model whilst sharing and developing your skills. You don't need to have been involved in guiding before. At the heart of guiding are the unit meetings that girls go along to each week. Volunteering at unit meetings means getting messy, meeting new people and running activities that help girls discover their potential and build their confidence. Unit meetings are usually two hours either weekly, fortnightly or monthly, during term time. These roles are perfect if you want to: • Support girls on a regular basis and see them grow • Get stuck into adventurous (and often messy!) activities • Have a rewarding role where you'll develop great relationships with girls and volunteers Once you have expressed an interest in this role a current volunteer will contact you for a chat and to answer any questions. then we will ask you to register on our volunteer membership system. https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/register-your-interest/
