Advisory Board Director

The RecShop CIC

Support The RecShop by providing advice, strategic guidance and new ideas to help the organisation grow. Work alongside other board members to improve projects, partnerships and community impact.

Detailed Description

We’re The RecordShop — a Multi-purpose Music Space with community at its core. Founded in 2015, our mission is to make the music industry more accessible by providing opportunities for young and emerging artists to create, learn, and grow. Based inside The Mall, Wood Green, The RecShop has become a vibrant hub for collaboration, culture, and creativity. Through our free Studio Drop-In sessions, young people aged 11–25 can access professional studio time in 3-hour blocks every 10 weeks. Our Artist Accelerator Academy (AAA) supports emerging talent through workshops, recording sessions, and live performance opportunities. We also run The RecFest, our annual community music festival, and facilitate volunteering and work experience placements that help develop creative and professional skills. Our space doubles as a venue for hire, complete with a bar, merchandise, and vinyl shop — reinvesting back into our community projects. Whether you’re an artist finding your sound, a volunteer looking to make a difference, or a partner wanting to invest in creativity, The RecShop is where opportunity and artistry meet. The Advisory Board Director will provide strategic advice and guidance to support the growth and development of The RecShop. The role involves contributing ideas, supporting decision-making, reviewing projects and helping to build partnerships that benefit the organisation and the local community. Board members will work collaboratively with staff and other directors to help shape the future direction of The RecShop while promoting its mission and values.
